Dr Mulligan and Dr Rodgers are surgically trained GP’s who have created a private vasectomy service for the West of N Ireland. We operate out of Strule practice in Omagh Hospital and Devenish Practice in Enniskillen Health Centre and offer convenient Saturday morning surgery appointments.
The technique employed is the “no scalpel, minimally invasive, vasectomy” carried out under local anaesthetic and lasting no more than 30 mins. By calling or emailing us, we can offer you an initial phone consultation and if you wish to proceed, then payment can be taken and a booking made for your vasectomy.
THE PROCESS FOR YOU
Once you make contact we will arrange a remote appointment to explain the details of your vasectomy. To proceed, we agree a date and once payment is received via secure link we will confirm. You will be seen promptly on your operation date, consent forms signed with your surgeon and the procedure undertaken.
A summary for your GP is issued post-operatively. A postal ‘post vasectomy semen sample’ is sent to you at 4 months, and if sperm evident, again at 8 months. If sperm persist you may need a specialised ‘live’ sample to assess if they are motile (‘alive’) or not, and this may mean a trip to the testing laboratory. If you have persisting or ‘live’ sperm, you will be offered a re-do (approx. 1% of men). A clear sample confirms you are now safe to stop other forms of contraception.

Dr Geoff Mulligan
Dr Mulligan is a senior GP in an Enniskillen training practice with an interest in minor surgery, in particular vasectomies, developed during his surgical training in the 1990’s and updated as a member of the GP Federation vasectomy services. He is keen to maintain and develop this service to his patients.
Dr Robert Rodgers
Dr Robert Rodgers qualified from the University of Manchester in 2003. He completed surgical training and gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2007. Robert has been working as a GP in Omagh since 2011 with a special interest in skin surgery and vasectomy.
